Who benefited from college?

This fall I'm going to college to become a civil engineer but I just wish I had money to spend on things other than debt.
That's kinda how life goes bro.... haha. So yea, you could absolutely quit school and get another job and make way more money than you are right now. OR, you could continue at school, struggle, and give yourself more opportunities to make WAY more money in the long run. College degrees are not fool proof. But reading through that thread I linked to, it seems everybody with one in their late 20s, is already benefiting from it.

What are you talking about? They make excellent money. They work half the year and when at work, only half the day. I won't even get started on the retirement packages... And they get a full salary. I think those fuckers are overpaid to be honest.
it depends on the school district... i agree that there are alot of teachers out there, that make seniority, and then just dont do shit, but, like i said, all depends on the school district. and the pay isnt that good... she only makes 40k a year, with 4 years in... but like i said, depends on the district

the amount of work is more then you think too... they do get alot of days off, but a large majority of those days (besides summer of course) are spent grading papers, making lesson plans, etc etc...

Hell yeah! 50K for working 6+/- hrs a day and have off all summer.

its ALOT more work then you think bro... i'm not trying to defend teachers in general here (although i already know certain individuals will claim i am)... but everyone thinks it is SUCH an easy job, you get this and that, blah blah blah

truth is, it can be an easy job... if you want to be a dirtbag... just go to work, and get a paycheck... but the VAST majority of teachers out there didnt get into the career field because of the money... they did it cuz they love teaching (i can get flamed for that comment all you want, doesnt bother me). i used to think the same way about it... until my wife actually started teaching, and i saw the actual workload that they have day to day... i work ALOT less then she does (i might work harder when i'm actually at work, but atleast my job stays where it should, at work), and i get paid a HELL of alot more then her.

I completely understand, I'm not a teacher so I wouldn't know how "hard" it is but I know they get paid well for what time they put in.
