Who benefited from college?

College is so effing expensive and getting worse, I've had two cheap-*** subs sitting in their box and I am so broke I cant afford an enclosure, head unit, or amp to install them. I could afford so much more if I wasnt paying for a "higher education". Who here went to college and actually benefited from it?

WTF... So college IS a waste
Well, they've effectively moved all of our jobs to foreign countries so the majority of people are forced to either get a crap job for most of their life, or go to college, and pay off huge amounts of debt for the rest of their life.

If, however, you're lucky enough to be poor enough(lol, wut?) to get a nice amount of financial aid, you'll be fine. Or, on the other hand, if you're born into mass amounts of money, you don't need to really worry about money.

Education shouldn't cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, especially considering it's not much more of an education than high school. The majority of learning in college settings comes from kids growing up and forming their own ideas and advancing them. Colleges need students; people don't need college.

This.

I don't feel like getting into this debate again...basically if you go to school for a real degree (doctors, lawyers, engineers), something that takes actual knowledge to perform, you'll be fine. But if you go for political science or drama or some BS like that, well....you might as well just mail your money to me, I'll put it to better use //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The stupid thing is my parents are above average when it comes to money but they are making me pay for college so I dont get much financial aid.
you'll try harder if you are the one paying for it.

I have a B.A. in Biology, graduated in 2010 from a private college, work in a biotech lab, made my last student loan last month. Will be attending grad school next year for optometry. College worked for me, because I worked at it. If you think simply showing up to class is going to get you 75k a year after graduation you deserve a crap job.

Yeah but is it worth it to pay off the debt with a degree or just work a slightly lower paying job. Because technically you dont make much until that debt is paid off but if you dont have that debt you pretty much get a head start?
