Because the president wakes up in the morning and decided to charge high gas prices. Hopefully the new president will wake up and decide to make gas a dollar a gallon again.

Oil is still a finite research. The only answer is alternative fuels. Demand has nearly doubled in the last 10 years in countries like India and China. You think that would have nothing to do with world wide oil price?

Also we would have much more oil if we didnt have all these people complaining about tearing up swampland and preserving wildlife.

But thats not the answer either.

Yes. Perhaps a ceiling on gas. Make a law that one must sell gas for a dollar.

Driving a hybrid is not best for everyone. I cannot afford a hybrid because of the high initial cost. I can afford gasoline and limit costs by using less.

I know my view is wrong, and my credit card is still blowing up funding my trips back and fourth to work.

Its costing me more than I make just to get into work, sorry, but I have no reasoning skills left, I only have anger at the gas pump.

exactly... people use what they have, im sure people would drive hybrids if they had too but people already have vehicles so we stick with what we have

Supply and demand. I can assure you the president does not dictate gas prices. He may have a little influence but he nor any other person have the power to say lower or raise gas prices substantially.

Ok, tell me, do you honestly believe that technology CAN NOT or HAS NOT already developed a car that can run on electricity or another source of fuel?

I believe, that we or someone has or at least can develope that vehicle, the problem, is that eventually that vehicle will run the oil bidness out of bidness, and that would not be good for those rich folks that are getting fat off oil.

And we know the US wants to keep the rich rich and the poor poorer!
