depends what market your in. the nightlife here is only starting to take off. if the owner didn't spend all the time going to and from his real estate offices and the club he'd be much better off. instead he spends atleast 8 hours a day at the club. If he could find someone competent enough to run it for 30-50k a year he'd be in great shape. but the amount of time he invests right now is not worth the income no matter how great, he's 45 and thats not the age i want to be mirco managing shit at. But in KY thats probably a much different story.

The thing about clubs is that they are hard businesses to do what you want and make money at the same time. I can't stand top-40 any more than I can hennessy and hypnotiq but unfortunately there's no market here for anything else. Lexington is a tough spot to be (for me) because everyone wants to do the same thing and you're competing with 5 other major clubs who offer the same product. That, and dealing with the 21-30 yr old crowd who all think they are movie stars because they went to New York and got some Chanel knockoffs is always an eventful time.

When I'm done with school here I'll take my money and run somewhere with some diversity and make real money. Until then, I'll have to cope. WMC events and Atlanta / New York / DC trips keep me sane in the meantime.

On the flip-side, if you're a beer pong playing college boy who thinks ugg boots and plastic cups are classy, this is where you need to be.

I used to bartend in NYC,the pay was great I made 900 bucks once in a single night once in tips (New years eve)- but usually I was broke from pissing it all away on silly shit

and

the pvssy was stupendious...I never got laid so much in my life

my only advise

is avoid chain restaurants ,the only guy making money in those places is the greedy owner...
