:rolleyes:So after hours and hours of modifiying my box to be able to close my trunk lid, i was ready to put my 18" Q in the trunk...

I was clearing the floor so i could put the box but then the + and - output from the brutus amp touch the positive of the capacitor //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif .... result: White smoke and an amp that stay in protection....

is it dead? I tried reading the output at the amp terminal and it stays at 0 volt no mathers what //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

**** capacitor, i should have remove it sooner.

What should i do? I'm from canada and shipping isn't really cool .... is it worth it to repair?

anything i could do myself or other test i could try or is it really dead? It's so cold outside i don't want to play around it too much

if yanyone got something for sale cheap that does around 1200-1500 watt @ 1 ohm pm me

pop the cover and see if its toasted.

smell like it... burn toast //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

too cold today to check that...

givin power to output = what piece to repair?

Is it reading 0 volts at the speaker output or the power supply input? If it's reading 0 volts at the input then hopefully you just popped the on-board fuses (assuming that's what the amp has). Have you checked its fuses?

I tried reading the output at the amp terminal and it stays at 0 volt no mathers what
Did you check the fuse at the front battery? Or any fuse that you may have on the main power lead from the + battery terminal?

the fuse are fine... my other amp are starting.. tough i just burn a power acoustic amp cheapo amp running it at 1ohm :p bridged while it's a 2 channel amp lol... i don't give a **** about this one....

The cover light are on, but the green power light and the protection light aren't powering up. The remove bass knob is stating protection....

I'm pretty sure i fried it... I just had remove the tape to hook it up to the new sub //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Right now i'm murdering the capacitor

that's why you are ALWAYS supposed to unhook your battery ground(s) when you are connecting/disconnecting power wires.
I usually am more carefull... this time i only had to swap sub, eazy operation //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Can i have something for it? worth repairing?

I'll be takin' it out of the car soon and takin internal pics

got some internal pics. Doesn't look that bad.

what's burn : r46, r 47, r48

r 32, r33, r34 and d16 and d17
