So Is Life
Okay this is absolutely driving me nuts. I can not for the life of me figure it out. I used all the methods of cutting back engine whine in the stickied thread. I even grounded the head unit to two different bare pieces of metal on the frame.
Yesterday there was no whine, just a slight hiss which wasn't a big deal when the music was turned up a few notches. I forgot to install the tweeter attuntuation loop thing on the tweeters, so I turned around and wired that in there between the crossovers and the tweeters. Now a loud whine is coming from the front left tweeter and speaker. Here's the kicker, if I switch the RCAS around, it doesn't make a difference. I thought maybe it was the speaker wire, so I tried switching the left and right speaker wires coming from the amp. Nope, the whining just switches to the other side, so the way the left and right wires are ran are not to blame. It is LITERALLY just coming from the front left speaker output of the amplifier. The amp is a soundstream dtr4.500. Thanks in advance, this is BLOWING MY MIND.
