I've had a lot of both, and I always come out of the hard teacher's class a lot happier.

It depends on the class, if Im taking an intro gen ed BS class, I hate teachers who take their jobs to seriously and try to give everyone C's-F's. But if Im taking a beneficial class then I would rather have a good teacher who is hard.
