which would you pick?

Depends on your space you have. If space wasnt a issue and you want SPL with if you do it right fiarly nice sq (believe it or not with comps) i would go for the comps but a bigger amp. But if you want a nice kick with not much space taken the Rs are the way to go. I would also consider another amp not bad just better out there for the price.

 
I would go with the type r's. I have 2 type r 12's sealed 1cubic feet with just 340 watts going to each with and they some awesome. The sq is incredible but they also can shake the ground. With that amp and a ported box u can get **** loud and sound very good doin it.
