Im confused. If your old set had a dedicated midbass driver, it was a 3-way set? Dedicated midbass means it only plays midbass, not midrange. And are you saying your last front stage was highpassed at 160hz? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gifok so ill HP it at around 175 then. i should get some good amount of bass along with some music. my last components were the eclipses and its mid was a dedicated midbass driver and i got plenty of music out of it as well as tons of excursion and bass. at about 160HP
Those xxx mids should extend well below 100hz, even being run 2-way. Exactly how far below depends on your power, music, doors, etc. Start at 80hz HP, and your sub(s) LP at 80hz. Extend your mids lower from there and adjust the sub accordingly, if the mids allow it without bottoming out. Then play with the slope to fine tune.
