im a 80's / 90's boxy jeep wagon guy my self.seems to be a good choice for a "system" viechle.

I could not realley see my self driving a astro.

My uncle two weeks ago decided to purchase a tahoe. Brand new off the lot. He said 3xx miles later, transmission went bad on it. Now hes pimping in an x5.

I'm sure that there is nothing wrong with domestic vehicles but just stories like this and especially from relatives that just makes me not want one.

All of those things are crap, get a better engineered vehicle, if you want an off-road capable vehicle (what I think of as a real suv). Here is what I recommend:

Jeep wrangler, k5 blazer (mil spec M1009 diesel), Toyota FJ (old model or new one), Nissan patrol, LR defender, or county (pre 92), Toyota 4runner, Toyota gas 4x4 pickups, xj jeep, International Scout. Well hell any International or the good old Mercedes unimog

From the list I vote for the Tahoe but I prefer the look of the GMC Yukon.

im not worried about off road. most off roading ill be doing is the snow lol. thanks though. and yes i like the denali but its to much money.

get a black tahoe for sure. IMO it looks way better than the Yukon. dont get the older escalade either.

if it means anything we have a 2004 suburban and had a 1994 suburban. both were/are great trucks.

ya im leaning towards the tahoe. i mean basically same as burban little smaller and cheaper. i like black but also think the new ones look nice in white with some chrome rims.
