Which Profile amp for TS-W306C?

this would be my first system.

as of right now, i am planning on getting a 1 PIONEER TS-W306C 12". 400W RMS and its 4 OHMS. (hoping only this one sub will be decent enough for my liking)

as for the amp, i am planning on either of these:

1. Profile AP1000 ($86)

- 2 ch.

- Bridged RMS (4ohms): 480x1

or

2. Profile AP1200 ($110)

- 2 ch.

- Bridged RMS (4ohms): 600x1

would the AP1200 be too much rms for the sub? or is the AP1000 better for the price? any suggestions would be appreciated! THANKS!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

BTW.. what does MOSFET mean?

first one will fit my budget perfect.

but would the second one make the sub sound better? loudness and quality wise? or is it too much rms and make the sub.. BLOW UP!!?!? hahaha

You wanna save even more money give Profile a call and see if they have any AP1000 refurbs that they'd sell you. Probably save you a few more bucks. They have other models that arent on thier web site that they sell as refurbs.

I'm currently running 2 Profile amps and they're great amps for the $$.

good stuff. since the thread is moving quickly and i dont wanna start a new one.. this is in the wrong section but oh well.

the AP1000, RMS @ 4ohms is 480x1

my question is.. if thats all thats stated, can a dvc be hooked up @ 2,1 ohms (since it seems like 2ohms gets more RMS than 4ohms) or is it just smart to follow that impedence that is stated in specs?

if you get a 306dvc ( dual 4ohm) and you wire it in parallel the amp will see a 2ohm load and the ap1000 will show you its full power at that load...

so yes you'll get more power from the amp with a dvc sub (dual 4ohm)

but is it mostly true that, wiring the sub at a lower ohm will give you more power?

like a 2ohm load is going to have more output than a 4 ohm load? or is this only true on certain amps? because the AP1000 only states bridged RMS at 4ohms and nothing on RMS at 2ohms or 1ohm.

I did an install with (2) ts-w306c's 12's in a 4 cu ft^3 NET box at 28.355 hz /per sub, I just upgraded the amp to a hofonics tx1505d 1000x1@2 ohms... it hits

nice, the SQ is amazing. I thought for the price ($125 for both subs on ebay)

the pioneers would sound a little shiity but i was surprised big time. Hope this

helps some.

Either amp would do fine.
