Which portable Oscope?

just got my oscope, dso201.

need some clarification on its operation, as dumb as these questions may sound. the probe is obviously the positive, and the alligator clip is the ground/reference? ive seen things measured without the ground so do i need it when measuring output?

whats the max voltage these can read? i was contemplating plugging it into a socket to see if it works lol but itll probably fry huh?

if anyone has the most up to date benf firmware id like to download it, and if you can link the install instructions id appreciate it. ive installed custom ROMs on phones before, so this shouldnt be too bad.

also, does anyone know the best way to use a 0db sine wave? i have frequency generator on my phone and id like to use that because itll account for distortion from bluetooth when i tune which i use for all my music.

I think the max voltage is around 5-10, never really checked. The freq gen should be ok. Double check that your phone doesn't clip at full volume.

5-10 x10 i assume, thanks. i read somewhere that 80v rms was the max but i could be wrong.

I'll do that, would an aux to rca work? connect the black alligator clip to ground and the pos to the pin? seems difficult to keep the stuff attached lol need an rca connector

You can do it on a 3.5mm, it's kinda awkward though. You could turn the gain down all the way on your amp so it's really not amplifying the signal much and test the RCA's that way.

Just checked my nano, the max I can set for vertical scaling (voltage) is 10v x1. The 80v limit I imagine is a hardware limitation, so I would not wall socket this without a 10x probe lol.

yep lol you're right. but i just connected it to an aux to RCA and it works so far, the sine wave is just way too big to fit on the screen i need to figure out how to scale out.

Yeah sure did, I was able to measure a 100hz sine wave and the dev emailed me back about the app and told me theres a 0db slider which helps a lot
