I am thinking about going focal for a set of comps and coax (polyglass v1 or v2).

Although infinitie reference are great and so are alpine type r.

thoughts about those three?

yes. the highs were harshh.. as in making your ears bleed.

there are many other sets out there that would be a better choice for you.

How much power do you have to work with?

i have the deck (9856), and the amp JBL CS60.4 (60x4). so.. under 400 for both the comp set and coax set sounds good. 400 as a max figure

The previous model. They were the 6.5" coaxials.

Those were kinda harsh. The new '07 model is a night and day difference with the ring radiator tweeter.

go with the focals in front for your comp set, im a focal fan and those are nice speakers

then for the coaxils i like the Polks, they retail for $99 but u can get em cheaper online than that

and with your amp, you'll have a nice speaker set up!

i have infinity ref coaxils last years edition, theyre good, a lil harsh without a sub though cos these speakers dont have much mid-bass what so ever, but with a sub these will give u clarity and good highs but i dont have a sub(s) yet //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

but yea when i listen to my hiphop/rap they can be a lil harsh, any other kind of music that isnt bassy like rap is totally fine and sound great, still rap or not theyre good speakers especially since they are really cheap online, 50-60 bux actaully, they used to retail for like $120

compared to the alpines, well i heard some of last years models along with some JBLs at a shop and i like Infinity and JBL better than the Alpines, but i havent heard the 07s sorry

it is a honda civic si. its the 2002 so its the hatchback.

the sub stage I am debating on. I am most likely doing a 12 ssd sealed.
