Which One Again?

are you guys nuts the phoenix gold TI is the second highest rated sub ever, and in my opinion is better than the W7 the W3 is not on the level, the type R is a joke next to it, the only one that is close is the ID one
Ummm...are you a jackass?!?! You must be thinking of the TI elite... NOT the PG ti...yeah...that's what i thought. peace

something else you want to think about:

most subs, particularly the "underground subs" do not require RMS power to make them sound good. in fact most of the time you can give them a whole lot less, sometimes less than half, and have comparably the same output.

i am probably only giving my pair of SE's 175 watts each... and

they beat the ever living crap out of my old JL W3v2's... and they

sound a sh1tload better...

when you order from RE they BUILD YOUR SUBS FOR YOU... they

also TEST YOUR SUBS BEFORE THEY GO OUT... it takes a while...

but would you rather have assembly line mass produced overpriced

stuff... or swanky handbuilt made to order subs assembled just for

you...

i can see you are mega sceptical... i was too... especially since i

already had JL's which are not exactly bad subs... i thought they

had great SQ while i was running them and was very weary of

ordering subs ive never heard... i asked tons of questions and

the folks on the forum steered me in the right direction...

i could not be happier with my SE's...

dont get the SX unless you want to give them the power they

deserve... they are also more of a SPL sub... stick with the

SE's 12" get around a 1000 watt amp and youll be set...

if you want to see pics of the SE's compared to the JL's

go here

http://www.homepage.mac.com/g30ffr3y/PhotoAlbum27.html

its my webspace where i put up pics of the switch from the

JL's to the SE's... once i opened the box i KNEW the SE's

were in another league/class than the JL's...

check'em out it may help your indecision...

Dude your site helps alot. The SEs look alot better made and everything than the JL. The basket looks alot better too. The only thing that looks cheesy is the dust cap.

Does anyone know how the 15" SEs perform? Do they have good SQ and SPL? What amp would you guys recommend powering two 15" SEs with?

The SE 15s perform very well, they sound excellent and a pair of them will be loud as hell. JL has the same dustcap pretty much, only they put the W6 logo at the bottom lol. Anything that produces 1200-1500wrms x 1 @ 1 ohm will be fine for the subs.

Should I put them in a sealed or ported box? How much space does two of them need to sound awsome? How much bigger is the ported box compared to a sealed?

I'd go with 2 12's ported...ported tuned low makes a difference.

Give the 2 12's 5-6 cubes net @30hz and you'll be in bass heaven. It'll be loud and sound GREAT. good luck, peace

RE recommends for the 15" SE

2 cubic feet sealed for SQ

4 cubic feet ported and tuned to 30Hz for SPL

and there is NOTHING cheesy about the SE's... they outclass

the JL's so bad its ridiculous that people would even consider

W3's vs. SE's... i like my dustcap actually... i think it has the best

logo of all the RE subs...

well... im not hating on the XXX... but i like the RE logo and the

way they write RE under it...

glad my pictures helped...

I plan to, I’m just wondering about the power difference. 160 watts to maybe 70. I’m hoping it’ll still be strong enough for my sub stage.
