Which One Again?

Ok... Not true. Why do people have to be difficult. Why does everyone else have L7, JL, Audiobahn(sucks) RF, PG and you guys are the only people who say IA, Aidre, RE and crap... I dont think I am asking of too much.

YOu can't go wrong with JL period! There's not a bad product they make. Yes, you'll pay more for it, but it'll be covered by warranty, assuming you're purchasing through a JL dealer, it's there right now, if you have the money, and they have a driver for just about any need.

The Shivas are an awesome idea though.

I was skeptical too at one point, but you'd be surprised how these subs you've never heard sound just as good if not better than maintstream subs for less. If you insist on getting mainstream subs from that list, get some W3v2s.

I've heard good things about the MTX 7500 series subs, or their MX something or other line. Someone on here also mentioned ID, can't beat their stuff either. Sounddomain is authorized to sell them on the net, but there goes your whole situation with a shop installing right there, unless you just want to outsource it to one. IMO, if you are unsure about all this, just go around to all your local shops and chat with the guys and have a listen to all the products they offer, then decide. Most places will cut you a deal if purchase everything through them and/or have them install it all. Shops get a bad rep, but they are an extremely useful tool and this business would die without them.

I have been talking with the guys down at the shop. They keep recommending the Kicker L7. I know the L7 is a SPL sub and they are trying to conivince me that it has really good SQ as well. I think they are just out to sell a $400 sub. I know Tweeters is an authorized dealer of JL Audio.

I may end up doing my own install, I just will be posting a hundred and one questions on here to see what to do and stuff. But first I need to pick my subs...

That's why we're here...i had limited knowledge about installing before i came here. A LOT of people are the same way...also, we're not being difficult...we were just in your shoes one day and we want to tell you to save your money and do it right the first time. If you could hear an IA LI, or an RE SE you'd be hooked...literally.

...and you guys are the only people who say IA, Aidre, RE and crap...
Where do you think EVERY company started?! Do you think JL opened shop one day and everyone respected them and knew who they were?!?! Same with Kicker, audiobahn, and every other now mainstream brand. You admitted you know VERY little about car audio, so SINCE you know little about mainstream brands...what makes that any different than knowing little about the "underground" brands?

-Honestly, you came here to ask for advice from people who know what they are talking about. People well experienced, people who have used products they suggest. So, why come here and ask for experienced advice...then not take it. It's an insult...to some extent. If you want to do it right the first time...and not want to upgrade soon (or after you hear an IA LI or RE SE if you ever did) then listen to the advice you asked for.

This post is not meant to be offensive, at all. It's just trying to help you! I'm down in this thread. peace

I understand what your saying to a certain extent. I just feel better about buying from a company that has been around for a while. A company who's products I have heard of and seen in real life. Thats why I have decided to stay mainstream... So what is there?

Ok. I have not decided if I will go with them or not yet, but what is the best sub out of IA, Adire and all of these other companies you guys have been recommending and that is under $230? Best all around, SQ and SPL.

I understand that every company has to start at the bottom and work their way up, so I might as well look into these companies.

Thanks for all of the help.

If it were me, i'd pick either the RE SE or the IA LI...either one. Both are comparable subwoofers...i'd say IMHO the SE would have the edge in SQ while the LI would have the edge in SPL. Either would be a great choice! peace
