I'm looking to buy a $200 motherboard, p35 chipset. . e6300, RAM- 4GB OCZ, 1950xt. planning on tossing out the 1950 in the future and mayb looking at an 8800gtx or getting 9000 series when they come out. I've had a few in mind : tell me what you think about these or if yall got something better from newegg. Any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks in advance :

how doee ABIT and Asus compare as far as reputable companies?

a) dual nics = wtf?

b) It seems not worth it to go for the GTX over the GTS given the cost.

c) Haven't upgraded my comp in a while, so I have no research or experience with current mobos, making this post 90% useless. But I have owned an ABIT and an ASUS, both of which were nice boards that left me with a positive favor of both companies. I'm a fan of Epox boards too. They had DIP switches on so many of their models way after everyone else went to BIOS level configuration, and DIP switches are awesome.

If it was me I would go with a 680i board with dual 8800 gt in SLI.

I am currently running an eVGA 680i SLI and I love it.

I have a single 8800 gts 320mb, but will be using the evga step up to get an 8800 gt.

Then 8800 gt in SLI ftw !!!

But if you have no interest in SLI then I would lean towards the abit board.

I haven't had much luck with asus boards.

Never used abit, but I've had bad luck with asus in the past. I've always had really good luck with msi boards so I try and stick with them now.

Asus is the largest maker of mobo's but I haven't had very good luck with them in some time. DFI board has a crap ton of OC options and are pretty solid boards. I have been running different MSI boards for awhile and I am pretty happy with them. Diamond (platinum) series always do great for me.

Haven't used abit on any of the systems I have built for people.

680i.....I'll pass on that

Seeing as how a 100% increase in cost only yields 10-15% in performance, i have no interest for SLI
