Ok so I need a decent head unit for my 2002 Ford Explorer. I am not sure what I should be looking for interms of features so if you guys could help me figure out what I need then that would be great!

Not sure on how many pre-outs, or what kind of pre-outs, also not sure EQ ability or LPF or HPF. I will be mounting my tweeters in the pillers with the mids in the doors so does that mean I need any special type of EQ or time alignment? I want the best possible music streaming options that are of the best SQ and not just mp3 files. Any suggestions?

Here is the rest of my system:

Front doors- Either a 2 way Hertz 165 or a 2 way DLS passive component set

Rear doors- no speakers

Sub- Either a Dayton 10 inch HO or a DLS 10 inch (not sure of models)

Will be using an OK 2 channel amp to drive the front door speakers and a decent mono block amp fo the sub.

Suggestions??? Not sure on the budget either.

Ur running passive so you have alot of options look for something with 3 preouts at atleast 4volts. Since ur running passive no real need for any massive eq feature or whatnot its nice to have but not a must have if you were running active then yes this is a very big deal. TA usually only comes on high end units but its a feature I have learned to love and could not do without. You can never go wrong with Eclipse....
