which head unit for ipod only - Eclipse 8051 or Alpine 7894?

I'm thinking about putting a system in my car and I'm only using an iPod (no CDs). Should I hook it up to an Eclipse CD8051 (i'll have to go analog) or an Alpine CDA-7894 (with the iPod cable)? I do want the best sound quality possible even though I know MP3s are not the way to go but I don't want to haul around my CDs in the car. And yes, I don't care if I have to control the iPod manually for the Eclipse, unlike the Alpine which lets you control it from the HU. Opinions?
