Which for "deepest" bass, sealed or ported?

The subs are only a small part of the equation. If you want low bass it starts with build quality of the box. If you did it right I would imagine a huge box tuned properly with 18s or 22s would go very low. Still you need electrical to back this up. Every vehicle is different too. Some can get low and some can get loud.

DD FTW to me but I'm biased, like every other audio enthusiast. Use your ears and choose.

The sub is actually a VERY important part of the equation. A DD, no series, will get as low as a similar sized TC Sounds, Soundsplinter, TREO, W7,or similar SQ/SQL sub. You could put any of these in a small-ish sealed box and play lower frequencys than most MUSIC will ever produce

The frequency you tune a ported box to is the lowest frequency it will produce.

(And ported boxes need a subsonic filter tuned to that frequency to prevent damaging the sub.)

A sealed box will put out bass below its tuned frequency.

Either can be good, but it takes a larger box for a ported sub.

playing below tuning and playing without a subsonic filter are two very different components

If you pick a tuning frequency above the lowest frequency that you intend to drive into the speakers, the speaker may well be damaged due to the lack of damping. Below the tuning frequency, all of the control will depend on the speaker's suspension.
