Which CVX 10 for Regular Cab?

My brother is looking at the CVX 10" Kickers. I see a 2 & 4 Ohm Version. Which one should he go with? He doesn't have a amp yet, also a amp recommendation also!

The box it's going in is sealed and divided. Its in a Regular Cab full size chevy.

Coils dont matter when it comes to sound. It matters on amp, which he dont have. So it dont matter which sub...

Dual 2 ohm version if you get a 1 ohm stable amp, like most mono subwoofer amps are, or are going to use a 2 channel amp bridged.

Dual 4 ohm if you are getting a 2 ohm stable mono amp, like kicker.

Dual 2 ohm is probably going to be the right choice. 90% of mono amps out there are 1 ohm stable.

1 mono amp should be more than enough and i'd stick with a kicker amp for the install...like the zx1500 since the cvx 10's run around 600 rms each, they are rock solid amps and don't draw alot of current.plus they have the built in fan (behind truck seats don't get alot of ventilation). i'm not a huge kicker freak but for what you're doing, that's just my 2 cents anyway.

they do have built in fans i thought the kx's did but not the zx's bc mine gets hot for having a fan in it and its running at 4ohms

I see where your coming from. But, the box has limited mounting depth. 5.5 inchs playing it safe.

The ZX1500.1 looks like the route I'll go for the subs. So, which OHM sub would I need to puchase? 2 or 4?

The zx1500.1 is a 2 ohm stable amp, so you will need to buy two of the dual 2 ohm versions.

Wire each of the subs in series, then parallel those together for a 2 ohm load.
