ok i have a 2003 mustang without the mach audio system.

i mainly listen to rap music so the bass has to bring it but with some clarity.

i plan on using a hifonics 1500d amp.

i have about 14 inches in heigh 32 inches in width and 17 inches in depth in my trunk and i want to go ported.

i want to know if i could make a 12 fit in there and still sound good for what i want, or would a 10 be better suited? if i get the 10 over the twelve what will i be losing?

You have plenty of room for the 12", so definitely get the 12"!

Depends, are you going by Adire specs and recommendations?

If so, the enclosure size for a Brahma has a nice little jump going from 10" to 12".

Recommended size for a 10" sq enclosure is 1.25^3ft/ for a 12" is 2.0^3ft. If you don't have much room, you might want to go with the 10". Building a slot port for that small of a box might be a little tricky though.

the ported enclosure i built for my 12" brahma would fit your dimensions. i say go for the 12".

Yea but were talking about a newer mustang here. His only problem after building the box is getting the box in the trunk. I have a friend who has a 2002 mustang and the trunk opening on these things are killer...you couldnt fit a cardboard box hardly into one of these things.

Ewww...I forgot about that. A suggestion for you Twisted - find some type of box and see what size would be able to fit in your trunk. If you can't find a box, guess what you think would fit, then make a frame-type thing and see if it fits. You can't waste enough time with this, the last thing you want is to make a box and then realize that it won't even fit.

With my friends mustang weve got to build a 3 cubic foot ported box for his death penalty 12 just like mine so what we are going to do is build a box that will fit inside the opening of the fold down rear seats which is about 11 in tall and 23 in wide and then just make it as long as we need to get 3 cubes out of it. Might be worth looking into. I also did this with my Grand Am...Took out the rear seats and made a box that would fit into this opening since it was actually bigger than the trunk opening itself and was able to get about 3.5 cu ft out of it.

thanks for all the replies. i think that i can make a 12 fit by the specs of boister77 specs. a 2 cu. ft.

would a brahama in about a 2.2 cubic feet ported box give me what i am looking for? if so what type of tuning for the box would you suggest ?
