Which Batt?

Yes I do know that kinetik does not have the best batteries but

they are in his price range and that is what he is wanting something

low cost that will still perform. I never took this as what battery is the best

cause that is a whole other topic. Think about what he is really wanting.

(And by the way I sell amps not batteries I could care less which battery is the best)

for the money I prefer the batcap, it is a personal preference based on my personal experiances. I find the batcaps discharge more freely. Unless your looking to run the system while your car is off, then the higher reserve is going to be better

When running my gear @ full potential, my alt simply can't keep up. However, @ ~75% potential it can. So i was thinking the larger the reserve the longer period of time i can keep her @ 100% b4 letting everything "recover."

Frankly, I do not wish to have a H/O alt. Yet, i love big sound. Kinda a dilemma. Yet, if you think a batcap 800 will solve my problem, i'll trust ya lol.

I don't play with the car off hardly ever. Mostly w/ car @ idle or moving.

The Kinetik website recomends you get a Kinetik 1800 for the backI would agree with the website. You should definantly go with

Kinetik though. Or go with Shuriken, same battery just a little cheaper.

I was refering to your quote above (in red)

I personally can't say if Kinetik is "the best" or not. You seemed to have a reason for saying he should definately use them. there are many batteries in his price range, and honestly his best bang for the buck will be in the off brands.

And if you sell amps, subs or batteries doesn't matter, either you can or can't back up your oinion.

try a smaller pully on yhe alt. it will spin it faster and that will be a benefit at idle.

Thanks i'll look into getting that accomplished. Can't do much to the alt myself due its location. Car has to be raised to get to it.

Also, do you think the batcap 800 will suffice? or should i go with the 1400's for ~ the same cost?

At some point your battery is not going to bridge the gap, you have a very small alt. you need a batt that will recover quickly, the ah between the batteris listed isn't enough to make a difference in bridging the gap left by your small alt. you would need a bank of batteries that were precharged, and honestly at that point your alt would give up the goast trying to charge them. Does that make any sence?

personally I would do the 800, but the 1400s will do the job also. In either case it will not be perfect world.

There are some really good deals on bigger used batts in the classifides right now.

Luckily, it seems it is a small bridge that needs to be gapped. If it was more sever, i'd suffer through an alt. However, I prefer not replacing stock parts whenever possible. Especially when i have to trust the work to a stranger due to my inability to access the alt.

I'll look into finding a batcap 800. Or something equivalent. Maybe a Kinetik/Shuriken 800-1400 depending.

In this case, bigger is not necessarily better eh?

How is Shuriken and Kinetik the same if all their batteries are different sizes in case measurement and 1400 sized and 1800 sized are a lb different in weight the 2000 are 3 lbs different in weight and the 2400's are 10 lbs different in weight? Plastic cases are not going to be lbs different.

Also how is a smaller battery going to charge faster? Faster from dead maybe. The smaller battery will need charged MORE because it has less capacity so the same load on a higher capacity battery is NOT going to drain it as deep. Last I knew AGM batteries didn't recharge as fast as they discharge. Also typically speaking smaller batteries don't like to be recharged with extremely high current. If his electrical is always going to be behind, then capacity will be his friend.
