Which Amp?

A quick questions in regards to Amps. The audio installer is recommending the JL 4 channel amp rather then the PDX 5 for powering 4 speakers and a sub. He's saying that even though the PDX 5 is a 5 channel, the JL 4 channel can handle the JL C-5s (75rms), C-2s (35rms), and JL sub (250RMS); and is a much better amp. What are your throughts on this? Is it better to go with the JL or stick with the PDX5?

The guy's pushing JL Audio down your throat. Don't let him do that.

The Alpine PDX 5 does 75 watts rms x4 and 300 watts rms x1 @ 4 or 2 ohms. It's a very nice amplifier, and it's perfect for running a small setup.

I'd say get the 5 channel that way you could high pass the speakers and low pass the subwoofer..

Thanks for the advices. I didn't even think a 4 channel amp can handle all that..oh btw, its a JL HD 600/4 if that changes anything...

It could be done with the 4 channel amp, but it can be done better with the PDX...

I have the c5-650 & c5-650x and let me tell you they sound way better with more power, I was running them off a jl hd 600, but before it was a jl 300/4 and it was ok I GUESS...
