sub is a mb quart pwe 242? dvc 2 ohm coils so ethier 4 ohms or 1 ohm.

looking at,

jbl gto 601.1 at $220 authrized dealer. 424WRMS @ 4 ohm.

pg xenon 400.1 at 180 not authrized, 260 authrized, @ 400WRMS

Directed 800d at 130 autrized at ikesound. 400WRM @ 1ohm.

Which one?

orginally wanted the pg, but where i was going to get it is not carrying it any more, so its back to the drawing board.

directed stuff good quality and SQ?

gto, but the directed is poking me in the eye for some reason.

Try a bazooka ELA500.1 500rms at 2ohms. I've had it for a year. Mine powers well, sounds good and went into protect once, but that was because my infinity got ***** by it.

Its only 180-200 at CC. I have not had 1 problem with it, gets hot sometimes but not to the touch. IMO I think it may be a lil underrated, but I can't say that due to my ear lol. I need a birthsheet.

Anyways, I love my amp and I will keep it untill my sub that I buy produces more than 500rms.

bazooka wouldn't work, sub only wires at 4 or 1 ohms.

the directed looks nice because of that low price. gto will almost cost 100 bucks more,

and its signal to nosie ratio is looking poor at like 72

is the jbl a better amp? in terms of sq and life?

The price of the jbl is what i was orginally going to spend to get the xenon, so i'm ready to spend that amount of money.

but if the directed is just as good but half the cost i'd rather save the cash.

I think the xenon is out of the running because of price, and because of its shady past, plus pg is canceling it.

I know directed is a more hiden from veiw company, so I'm not very fimilar with the name, people on the baords seem to like them ok.

i'm just afraid of getting what i pay for. i.e. a pos, that doesn't have good sq.

is it a safe geuss that the jbl would run cooler at 4 ohms/400 watts, then the directed at 1ohm 400 watts?

its one of these 2 amps, just need to pick

one would come from cardomain, the other ikesound, unless theres another online directed dealer.

any1 else, it seems there all in a similar class. the pg having better specs the other 2. but i heard they have problems. the jbl, seems some of the money would be going for the name. the directed i just really never heard about them

get a Directed Audio 1500D from ikesound. only 155$ for :

Dynamic Power Rating: 1500 watts

S/N: > 80 dB

Freq. Range: 20-250Hz

Damping Factor: > 50

Rated Power @ 4 ohm: 425 x 1

Rated Power @ 2 ohm: 800 x 1

Rated Power @ 1 ohm: 1200 x 1

RCA Output: Yes, mono

Protection: T,S,D,R,O,L

gives you plenty of power at 4ohm and power for later.. if you plan on upgrading to multiple subs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
