Considering jl is overpriced id rather go elsewhere n get equal quality for less. Dnt kno how i feel about buying comps used without hearing them first so i think new is wat i want for now.

My Kenwoods and Alpines weren't impressive in the least. They weren't bad, but nothing impressive. Certainly not worth $150. I heard Infitiy's have really harsh tweets, but that could just be a myth. So of the 4 I'd pick ID. If I had my choice, I'd look at some CDT Audio options, or the Digital Designs. And personally, I'd just buy a nice set off of a member used here.

They can take 160, I can guarantee that. Mine are bridged on my eD Nine.4, 150W per side at 12.5V.

I've had kicker, infinity, kenwood, alpine, rainbow, and jl xr components..... My experience goes like this....

Kicker.... Tweets too sharp and ear piercing.... Weak as* mids

Kenwood.... Descent overall, not quite enough mid bass

Alpine.....weak midbass... Never heard the type x components though

Rainbow...... Great!

Infinity kappa perfect..... Weak tweeters that blow easily

Jl xr (c5 now I think)..... Solid midbass and beautiful tweeters.....

Us site doent get as detailed...dnt see 160w anywhere on there. 130 sounds pretty cheap btw considering when i think dd i think ur comin off sum money..especially msrp?

I've used the DD T2 tweets with multiple set-ups, they are great tweeters, and some of my favorite of all time. almost zero harshness unless you push them to the mechanical limit.

I had a set of the Kenwood Excelon kfcx1720 6.5 comps and loved them for the price. To get the most out of them though they are very picky on install. I had my doors deadened and sealed for the mids. And it depends on what kind of music you listen to. I listen to mostly metal and dubstep and the tweeters as said above scream. But I personally like that, I really want to hear pronounced highs. The new model is the kfcx1730's and with those they switched to a soft dome tweeter so I have heard that they are toned down a lot more and a lot more smooth. Wasn't too impressed with the Kappas. Haven't heard the others
