Which 1000w amp to get? Looking for efficiency!

Thanks. Now what about the Hifonics ZRX1500.1D vs the AB 80.1? It seems the Hifonics does more power for less, but why is the American Bass more expensive? Is this also related to efficiency?

it is because hifonics is cheap stuffs, but good value (watt : dollar ratio). if you are lookin for bump on the cheap, it'll do its job fine. i've got my brz1700 on 2 SA's with garbage 4g wiring and a stock 80amp alt on my LS400. bout to rewire with some 1/0 soon. just get whatever fits your bill and itll be good. no need to worry bout efficiency and whatever because you aint at a big setup.

wow dude really. efficiency is very important ,especially when using 1000 watts rms or higher on a stock electrical.a less efficient amp is alot harder on the cars power system ,ie... bad for the alt and battery.and please dont use cheap wire ,if so better get a fire extinguisher

Sorry guys I still don't know what to go with. I don't know that much about car audio right now. I'm willing to pay more if it means no overheating / very reliable.

I read a few of the reviews on the Hifonics amps and some said they overheated a lot.

Basically what i'm looking for is something to run on 4 Guage, do rated power, and be very reliable. (Preferably with a bass knob)

you right. i personally just never let efficiency be as big a factor compared to OP.

the AB would be good. if money is a problem, then get something that you can afford.

cheap, reliable, rated power. pick two.

AQ1200D Amplifier

I have ran the AQ 2200D for 4 yrs without a single issue..good build, makes more than rated power and very efficient. 4ga will be fine on it too.
