finally, done for the week. put in 97 hours this week. plowing all these little storms in a row are a pain in the ass. plowed snow at DIA earlier this week. what a trip to plow with planes coming and going. actually a little scary at first, but after getting to know the rules and procedure, kinda cool. plowing a few inches from a couple million dollar plane makes a person nervous.

I used to work part time for my dads side buisness plowing for him. Was kinda cool, but you have to be uber careful not to fawk up anything. Only thing I got scared about was running into something. I just was safe unlike other people in the company. Them bishes fly when they plow and my dad wonders why some months he don't make shit!

I have yet to do any this year. However, I see a huge storm heading our way.

my company does 85 properties in denver not counting the airport (big money). i had more than 1 100+ hour weeks last year and they wonder why guys back into poles. it's a hazard of the industry. i bought, with my own money, a backup sensor for my truck. helps alot, unless we have a big snow and it goes off all the time. i like the actual work, it's the ridiculous long hours that gets to a person. we did 20 hour days 5 days straight last year before a day off. i didn't even go home. slept in the truck on the property every day. the pain is alot less when the check comes plus the snow bonus we get. $$$$$$$$$$$$

Yeah we don't have anything like that. I mean we are on call and what not and other people have company trucks being my dad also runs a landscaping business in the summer and plows in the winter. He also is a manager at Midas muffler systems, so he is busy as all hell, but he has quite a few poeple under him that run it. Eventually I will run it for him, but need more time under the gun so to speak to learn the trade of everything.

We currently have 4 company trucks and a couple ATV's with plows on them for sidewalks, which I love to use. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif More salt than we know what to do with.

We don't get the snow you guys do, so we don't work those kind of hours unless we have too. Last year I worked one week at 90 hours because we had quite a bit of snow, however that was added with my full time job in LP, lol!

I am looking foward to some snow, so I can make a little extra dough before Christmas, then again I am the only son and I always get paid last! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif

what i hate is throwing sand. we have 5 sand trucks, but if we have time and the sanders are behind, we throw by hand. cold, miserable job. i have a regular atv driver i bring with me every storm, plus 2 hand laborers for anything the atv can't get. i've gotten really good at plowing now after a few years. my bonuses are getting really nice for geting properties done on time , with no complaints. i've learned that handicap parking is the most important part when it comes right down to a legitimat complaint.

Yeah, we have sand as well.

When I go out to plow, it is just me and the ATV in the back, no need for extra hands. Like I said, this is not Denver. I mean we get lake effect snow, but still nothing compared to the likes you guys get I am sure. Plus we don't do airports. We have quite a few sites we go to and also do drive ways as well. My biggest one last year to plow was delphi Packard's lot in Warren, ohio, which is a good size lot and took me most of the day to do it and by the time I was done, I had to redo it again because it was snowing so hard. I hate that shit!

Also I hear you about the handicap spots. I was plowing Walmart last year and it was so bad you could barely see, yet some moron was flashing me with his lights. So go over and see what they want and is this lady asking me if I could plow a spot for her to park her car. I looked at the spot as those are the first on the priorty list and it was a clear as I could get it. Just had a dusty covering from the wind. I was like no problem mame. Didn't even want to hear it, lol! Looked the same when I was done. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif
