Where can I get my credit score?

I know theres a place where I can see my credit score whenever I want. Where can I go? I see all of these sketchy places on TV that want like 19 things of information and want me to sign up for this ant that.

Suggestions on where to look? I'm just confused as to why I got shot down for a loan when my dad co-signed and has like a 770 credit score....granted, I don't have a ton of credit. But my income, and his income especially should have been more than enough. The guy at USAA said it came back as "Insufficient Amount of Credit History"...even with a co-signer.

So i'm lost.

Yea, where can I see this numba?!?!?!

you gotta pay for your beacon score.. or else apply for a loan at your bank.. If your cool with your bank they will tell you

Mine at one point was 490 , now Im 680, ( takes waayyyyy longer to rebuild, than to establish.. remember that ) And I have a secured loan out, and a small homeowners loan out at VERY low interest, just to build my score.. I should be low 700s this time next yr

For you.. Take out a secured loan for something little ( $1000 or so ) put that 1000 right back in your acct and freeze it, or dont touch it foor 12 months.. You will show the bureaus your not a dipshit who blows his own money, and will build a status with your bank, as well as obviously raising your score

We've been through this with him before..........................................good advice, he just doesn't listen.

annualcreditreport. Only site that does not take a credit card. You can get your credit REPORT from all 3 agencies, but you still have to pay 7 bucks to get your score. This is as cheap as you will get without getting jipped into signing up for other stuff. Use equifax to get your fico score, its the most universal nowadays.

How about a link to the answer you got from the first thread you made about this?

also tried this. I can't get approved for anything. There was a major blemish on my dad's record from Chase, it was something that they screwed up. but he called and got it taken care of. I gave it a few months to make sure it was in the clear, and then this happened. I recently switched banks and they couldn't tell me my score over the phone. Also looked into what the previous thread said and didn't have much luck with anything.

........................hard to believe that a bank won't let a gov employee (with no bad credit) borrow 1k on a secured loan. Guess it's so hard to believe because, i've seen it done many times(me being one of them).

I know where you're getting at. Every bank has told me it's an odd occurrence. The best explanation that they can give me is because i've only had a credit card for 5 months, and its not a LOT harder to get credit than it was before. Banks aren't nearly as trusting with people losing jobs left and right.

cut your hair first hippie....that will be a credit amongst us all //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

wow so you joined the army.. and didn't get them to repay your loans? and how long have you been in because you shouldn't have gotten your bonus check all at once.. they divide it up.. even 7k.. you shoulda looked into what they will do.. they will repay college loans and if you woulda claimed those they most likely woulda covered it..

anyways if you haven't checked it yet this year you can do it once for free.. annualcreditreport freecreditreport they make you sign up but if you cancel before the month then you are fine..

Don't you own a truck? If you have the title, most banks would be willing to make a small credit-building loan using the title as collateral.

It wasn't a loan. I was a freshman with 5k of housing to pay for, for the year. I got them to suspend it to wait for my signing bonus to pay it off. I'm saving my student loans for grad school since I already have 100% tuition covered via scholarship. And my bonus was 20k, but you get half...yadda yadda...you know the deal. Then i contracted as a cadet so I forfeited the next half of my bonus.

I never saw your other thread but you just said something about the bank not telling you your score over the phone? Well no **** man, thats a security issue.. LIKE WE SAID, ( in this thread at least ) quit being lazy, organize your ****, get as much money as you can and go open a secured loan...

AS for credit cards.. do NOT go above 50% of your max limit, ( I would suggest not going over 30% until you start building and adding available credit ) and pay it off in full every month..

Credit cards are different from loans.. Credit cards they want to see paid now, because they are meant as an alternative to you not having cash on hand .. Loans they want to see a consistency, and a continual monthly payment because it basically builds credit "trust"

Listen or dont.. Im speaking from experience , and from my Ex being a Loan officer at a Credit Union. I nearly lost it all being laid off from my job for over 9 months .. Defaults credit cards, medical bills, auto loans , and also repo threats .. But I got back on my feet , and trust me it costed me wayyyyyyyy more money to dig myself out than it would for you to start from scratch.. I ALSO had a $4380 write off from Chase.. I know alll about them ppl

Oh and I agree.. Before you get that secured loan , maybe take $20 bucks out a chop the locks a bit, Spicolli //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
