...So when this bridge in Paoli, Indiana, was created, designers certainly would never have known that massive, road-going semi trucks would become an integral part of our freight and supply infrastructure. The truck being driven by young Mary Lambright weighed 30 tons, while signs were posted warning that no trucks over six tons should travel over the old bridge.

According to BangShift, Lambright is only 23, and had only recently received her CDL. Following this debacle, she admitted to police that she had seen the warnings, but did not know how much six tons was in pounds. It’s 12,000, while her truck weighed somewhere in the neighborhood of 60,000 pounds. She had apparently made a wrong turn, which led to attempting to cross the bridge to get back on course. Lambright also had her 17-year old cousin with her in the truck at the time...

forget about weight, the thing wasn't even high enough, womens height and depth perception is always screwed up, things appear larger then they are. {thank god my wife hasn't figured this out} //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Haha

Lasic will soon be the leading cause of divorce.

too bad she wasnt hurt enough to truly understand how stupid what she did was. doesn't deserve to die, but lose a leg or arm and i bet she'll really learn that lesson quick.

23 year old girl that became a trucker, got to be ugly or extreme white trash

I saw this earlier, she said she wasn't comfortable backing up her truck (how'd she get a CDL?) so she chanced it. As someone who's been around trucks and trailers my whole life and probably will be for the rest of my life as well it hurts me to see stupid people like this giving the industry a bad name

Eww...warm pineapple.

Dunno if some people remember or not but almost same thing happened here in my state. I'm not too far from this either...

I-5 Bridge Collapse Over Skagit River in Washington Sends Cars, People Into Water - ABC News

We got lots of bridges around here in this state. They're slowly deteiriating...only supposed to last 30-40 years and a few are 60+. I wouldn't wanna go over that bridge with an 18 wheeler being that old. Our infrastructure is failing big time and no one esp the gov to get state funds to fix it is doing nothing about it. Back in the 60's 70's everything was going well. We need to get back in that mode because it would create a ton of jobs.
