What's with the lack of availability of the 9887 at local dealers?

Alpine is no longer producing the '07 model year HU's.. '08s are already shipping and you'll start seeing them on the shelves before the end of this year. Yes, they released their HU's and a small amount of add-ons early this year, but you won't see their full lineup until next year like every other company..

An authorized Alpine dealer (BESIDES Best Buy or big chains) should have access to all Alpine except F1 Status, only F1 dealers can get F1 stuff. Find another dealer... Order crutchfield or something.

Alpine wouldnt allow BB to carry anything higher end like Type X or the 9887, because they didnt want to become Pioneer basically, who pretty much *****'s themselves out to any store that will take them.

I always got pretty good deals from them. All it took was talking to them and seeing how much they were willing to come down on the price.

9887 may not be available much right now as mendon mentioned. They didn't "make enough" of the 07 models.

Variances in pre-out voltage, only premier versions are active capable, IE 9400mp (pioneer) not active capable but 940mp (premier) active capable. Also 2 year warranty on premier.
