I am looking to replace my car stereo (head unit). However, what I really want is a good reciever with CD player, channel presets, scan button, seek button, and a simple dial for volume. The problem is I am having a hard time finding car stereos with all this on the dash, specifically the scan and seek buttons.
Most require you to flip through menus. Someone told me that these are on a remote control that comes with the receiver. I have a hard time believing a remote control is necessary in a car (or even safe - same goes for flipping through menus).
Since many of you have canvassed the market for quality recievers, can you recommend a brand and model that might have these features, and puts out quality sound?
