mine was sparkomatic cassette player with 6x9's stuck to emergency brake (with the magnets) free air in a 1980 toyota corolla station wagon..

I joined this here for re-education. So much has changed now. My last system was just 2 15 competition Kickers on a old Fosgate 400w amp. Factory deck with Pioneers in all the doors.

yeah power cost less now but subs are less efficient so instead of running enitre system with 1 4 channel that does 75x4 each sub only getting 75rms (or 150 with 2nd amp) most subs are made to be ported now and you need 600rms min for most.. i ran over 900rms to a pioneer 3003 ported for 9 months no problems.. and because of whats called "box rise" sub really only sees maybe 50-60% of power the amp makes so some guys run say 3k rms to 2 8's etc..

Yeah, the power I see being run like nothing now blows my mind. I'm thinking about a 1500w system should be enough for me. I just really don't want to mess with my alternator. I've already done the big 3.

yeah the xtr test at like 2100rms, it's a strong amp but i think it was like 55% efficient.. if u want in between those amps power the wolfram 1500 is korean based board like more expensive amps tested at 1600rms.. they were cheap af couple months ago but went up since but these and new sq amps haven't been out long https://www.wolframaudio.com/collections/w-series-monoblock-amplifiers/products/w-1500-1
