Came here for the sound advice... (is the most popular car audio forum, most posts, recent data, good reputable members?)
Right now i just have an 800 watt Sony Amp ( i used to work there so i got it for close to nothing and a shallow mount Pioneer in the trunk. There is only abt 8 inches of trunch stance in the 2003 2 door Wrangler so i id the best i could with what i had for the last 5 - 6 years. Now i am thinking of doing something bigger. Get a new car for a daily commuter and use the jeep for off road and errands around town - it's also a great car to park in tight spots. I'm debating taking out the back seats and putting in a 15" Kicker S15L7 4-ohm )or maybe 2 12's (and i'm not convinced whether square is the way to go over tradition round cones) and maybe a Hifonics ZRX1816.1D Zeus Mono Class-D Subwoofer Amplifier, 1800-Watt or the 2400-watt model.
So many questions... that's why i'm here though. Still learning about ohms (seems pretty clear that i need a 1 ohm stable amp with sub wired to show 1 ohm
idk. Seems like so many potentially very good and powerful amps out there and prices seems reasonable. The to decide on the sub/subs. My car is already wired up but i will probably need a lower gauge wire for what i'm trying to do. I am even considering getting a high out put alternator installed; Calling my mechanic tomorrow.
In the mean time i have a pretty cool project to work on as i am installing whatever I what into my girls suburban. That vehicle has the space that i wish i had so that will be fine. Most of the gear is here and i might start the install tomorrow. Wish me luck.
Any tips on the Jeep Wrangler stuff would be appreciated - or if there is thread where someone is going though or has done what i am looking to do i'd love to talk to them, check out their thread, try to avoid any pitfalls and maybe gain some good ideas in the process. THis is going to be sick.
See you around the forums folks. I might be here a VERY LONG TIME.
Take care.
FYI - this audio instal will be happening while i get new tires / rims / lift kit... the works
