what's the process to buy a handgun legally?

im looking to buy a handgun and obtain a gun permit and maybe a concealment license. whats the process in doing so? do i just go to the gun shop and pick a handgun and the shop will do everything for me in obtaining the gun permit or do i have to go to city hall or something. Also if i want to obtain a concealment license, what kind of questions do they ask in the interview? also any suggestion for a handgun?

i live in philly but i dont have any prior run ins with the law. So do i have a 100% chance of obtaining a gun permit? how bout a concealment license? im bout to walk to a cop and ask him.

odds are you're going to get something with heads on it.. or your going to pay the same price you do at the store (unless you have a good connect).. Only reason to buy one on the street would be if you aren't of age or are a felon or something. Go the legal way.

yeah the revolver is real ...I picked it up for $125 from a pawn shop its tiny...it shoots 22 shorts...new I think they run about $200 it looked brand new when I bought it....holster and all came with it....They have a version that shoots 22LR or 22 Mags and use to have one with inter changeable cylinders.....I may get one of those someday....

been reading some stuff online, looks like it's almost impossible to get a concealment license in philadelphia. How about my chances of just buying a gun for my home? whats that called, a gun permit?

As stated before it depends on the state, I walked in to my gun store gunless and walked out with a mossberg 590, But if your name has ever gone through the system though chances are they'll make you wait a couple days before you can take it, at least in Ohio. I've seen many pissed people with clean records wondering why they couldn't get a gun the same day. But about the city hall no. Your gun shop should take care of everything for you. What kind of gun you looking into?
