What's the MOST amount of miles you would purchase buying a used car?

I am normally very leery buying a car with 100k + miles, but some of the acura's I've been looking at have 110-125k miles. I hear these motors can run for ever. I'd probably put another 100k miles on the car.

The one specifically I am looking at is an 01 CL type S, rebuilt ****** 40k miles ago. They are asking $7500, but i could probably get it for 6500-6800. Only thing is, it has 122k miles on it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Should i take a stab at it, or keep looking?

I bought a car with over 200,000 the dealer lied to me when I purchased it, and I couldn't do a **** thing about it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif The car ran strong for a good 30,000 before I got rid of it though, and was running great at the time I sold it.

I'm pretty sure you could have sued the dealer for odometer fraud.

I'm gonna go to the dealer tomorrow, and see about the timing belt, that can be a pricey trip to the shop if that needs to be done //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

with timing belts just make sure to make mark on the cam pulley itself and on the head or something stationary close to cam pulley... Not a thick line a very small accurate line before loosening the belt tensioner...but make it with something that will not rub off...

I mean you can't sit there and play with the **** pulley but if you are careful and it moves just a tad realign it up with the mark you made and it will be just fine...Its just a pain in the *** to get all of the other crap off to do said belt, but when you do the belt, do all the accessory belts as well, and if your water pump is under all those belts like my honda is, you should really change that as well...And while that is all apart do the big 3 while there...

Also, I bought my 1999 honda civic ex with 104,000+ and runs real strong, my buddy has almost 140,000 on his 2001 honda and its like brand new...hondas run forever as long as you give them fresh oil on a regular basis...

Not here, anytime they have the car with an AS-IS sticker on it, there's nothing you can do about it. I only found out because of the service records, found in the trunk. I made well over the $1,700 I paid for it, by having it, and sold it for $700, so I made my money back. Car ran like a 50,000 mile car, so I was happy with it, until I needed something bigger.
