What's the difference

I find that very hard to believe. Vendors are allowed to sell and display prices etc. I merely posted a review of a company that few to none of the members on this forum have heard of.
That your affiliated with and represent. Thats advertising.

Ill tell you what. Ill make a thread in the back room and we will see what the verdict is. If the rest of the mods agree the thread will stay deleted. If they disagree I will open it back up. Thats part of being a mod is making judgement calls. This is one I made.

How do I personally benefit from this post though?
If I suggest someone buy an Audioque subwoofer and I am friends with the owner would my post be deleted?
How would anyone know you are friends with the owner unless you advertised it? Your advertising that you are affiliated with them in your signature. Nobody would know your friends with the owner of AQ.
Nice blanket statement. Examples?
Between me posting a review of a pair of speakers and people nut hugging a company? My thread gets deleted. WOOOOOOOOO

@whitedragon551 what's up man? Are you upset that I called you out for hating on a company with your unobservant "observations"?

its bull he didnt do any wrong you just need to get off your high horse @denim ; @pro\-rabbit ; would you have deleted his thread?

Somebody could look at the friends list on the site, wouldn't that be constituted as advertising it as well? It is available to the public. If I see somebody recommending a product and I provide proof either that they are friends with the company on facebook, this site, or another site, you will be obligated to delete the post/thread, correct?

I have friends on my friends list. I dont know any of them personally. What would having someone on your friends list prove? Even liking a company on facebook doesnt prove you are actually friends with the owner. It just means you like the company.

With that logic, me putting in my signature that I am part of the team doesn't actually mean I am part of the team.

It's a very fine line. But I don't think linking or doing reviews is crossing that line. EVERYbody is biased in some way or another. There are a crap ton of team DC or team Sundown members spouting off about how awesome their shit is in every goddamn thread, but they never get deleted. And I'm quite certain Geoff has more insight and experience than those yahoos. And if he stands behind or believes in a product, I'd certainly like to hear about it.

I also don't see how it benefits him if he's not a rep or making a dime off of linking or doing reviews. He's already on the team.

It's a good point about circumventing the vendor thing, but if he wasn't on the team, would the thread still have been deleted? If it was his personal review and I didn't know him, I'd be like, "Meh, he's just hugging nuts." But it's a link to a 3rd party review. Legit in my book. Not that my vote counts for anything. Just sayin...

He indirectly represents the company by being a member of their team. If he wasnt on their team, and didnt rep the company, it would just be a third party review and would have stayed.

To be honest this thread should be deleted as well since its also indirectly advertising.

You never responded to my question.

By that logic no. A friends list to use a chat function of a website, liking a facebook group for news, and being part of a team are not the same thing. Your trying to compare apples and oranges. Your argument may have held water had it not already been established you are clearly a team member and admitted to your first post being a marketing ploy.
