What's the craziest weather you've experienced in your area?

This isnt really weather related, but here around my area, we had like 13 monster grassfires, in the same day.. I was pumping gas, and there was a brush firetruck getting gas at the same time, he said the one that he'd been on was the biggest fire he has seen in his ff career. Hes been ff for 13 years he said... Its kinda scary, because a rr track runs right behind our pasture and could spark it up at anytime..//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/hide.gif.2d479cfd917eedfe201353b91522ceab.gif

Where I live it really doesn't get cold whatsoever, the normal christmas time weather is like the 60's. Last Christmas out of the blue it started f****n snowing. Everyone in my town was freaking out. I was on the way to a friends house when I noticed ice fallling on my windshield:eyebrow: . Well about an hour later in started to snow. The funny thing was that it was 11 at night, a few inches had already fell and me and my brother-in-law were walking to the store to buy beer, I have to admit we looked like f****n idiots, but oh well we wanted beer and none of use were driving in that weather. This was the first time it had ever snowed since I was born.

Around a decade ago, my family was staying outside Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for a family reunion and we decided to venture to the city just to look around. A tropical depression happened to be moving in at the same time, and we just happened to get some of the rain and wind which isn't too bad except the non-tourist area of Puerto Vallarta aren't as well equiped for bad weather. The streets all flooded and basically my family was forced to take refuge inside some shop for about 20 minutes. When the rain let up, we went back to the place we where staying where it started up with wind and rain again for about a day.

70-75 degree weather in january..this is a first for me.
No doubt man. Makes me not wanna go home! (in Fort Myers, FL now.)

This isn't extreme weather, but it's a neat fact;

In Boise, Idaho, it gets very foggy in the mornings from the mountains and whatnot; At the airport, they release CO2 to turn the fog into precipitation so the planes can take off.

It's weird cuz it's VERY foggy one hour, and pretty much clear the next //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The Apple center and some highways in Houston, TX closed because of "freezing rain."

I guess TX doesn't have salt trucks, so they were just f*ct.

Meanwhile, in Ohio, it's like a Level 2 and we're at work.

that's EXACTLY the storm i'm talking about
this is probably the ice storm of... 98 I think?

edit: here are two pics I found of Canada during the storm, similar to what we had

Living as close to Lake Michigan as I do, I see the weather change every ten minutes. I've seen it snow on a day that started out being 67 degrees F, then rain and get foggy, then snow again.

the craziest thing to ever happen in Phoenix weather was when it snowed twice in the last 16 years
the whole 120+ degrees during summer is pretty common though

haha it the exact same here; in odessa, texas. aka West Texas. We were excited this year because we got 1/2" of standing snow over like 6 hour period. later that afternoon, it was about 70 outside.

and the high today is ~80 iirc. ****ing crazy

Yeh, the people over here really didn't know how to act. The weather us beautiful over here most of the time, but that was a real suprise to all.

One time in the Portland, OR area, back when I was in grade school, it started snowing really hard at about noon. When there was an inch or two of snow on the ground, they decided to let all the schools out early (we don't handle snow very well around here). So by the time I get off the bus there is probably 5 inches on the ground which was about the fastest I'd ever seen snow accumulate around here. Well, the weird thing is, all of the snow was melted by 5:30 at night, and we all had to go to school the next morning. One winter here we had a wind storm (odd to have wind around here with no rain) and we had wind gusts up to 70 miles an hour (almost unheard of in Portland). Well, because the ground was so saturated from days of rain before hand, a ton of trees came down, and this storm got us out of school for 3 days because so many power lines were down. Also got out of school early once because the creek behind my school was starting to flood.

Sorry for the long post. me = bored.
