What's the craziest weather you've experienced in your area?

There are memebers from all over the place. I'll bet people have some good stories.

Albuquerque (my town) is in one of the least exciting weather places anywhere. But, one day a long time ago we had 2 small tornados touch down simultaneously in the city (probably the only tornados that have ever been spotted in the area in 50 years). One of them, on one side of town, moved the car my mom was driving. And the other one several miles away removed part of the roof of a building my dad was in. That was whacky luck.

i used to live in grants which is hella close to albuqueque, when i lived in grants i was walking from school the side ot the street i was on it was nowing hard, and after i crossed teh street it was raining. but u could clearly see the rain on one side and snow on the other, doesnt sound crazy i know but it was frickin weird.

Another time i was driving home from training in the bay area i was on the high way, and my frined who went with me looked over and saw a cloud and told me about it. It was huge *** funnnel cloud and it was huge cloud cover and its just starts pouring to wear i was driving around 40-45 on the highway. Then the lightenting started, ive seen some pretty wicked lightening storms but ive never seen a bolt hit the ground. But on that night i saw 2 hit the ground, scared teh shit outta me

ooh man, we got midwest snow + tornado alley here. me personally? we got 18 inches of snow back when i was in 4th grade plus over an inch of freezing rain on top of it. me and my sister went "sledding" without sleds, only our snow pants. that's how hard the ice was. no school for like 3 days FTW!

of course, we've had much higher snowfalls than that, but 1.5 feet of snow plus over an inch of ice that wouldn't melt cause the temp didn't get above 10 degrees was pretty intense.

Every hurricane to hit south florida in the past 19 years. Seen a couple water spouts and 1 tornado during Wilma w/ golf ball sized hail. Thats about it for crazy weather other than the normal raining on half the street and not the other half.

i live like 45 mins form lemans but go to a county school adn when i was in 5th grade we had 22 inches of snow and the ice over top and had 2 weeks of christmas break and then 2 extra weeks of school. and then last year we had the ice storm and had no power for up to 10 days in my area nad everything was closed there was a layer of ice half an inch thick across the entire county and we were out of school for an extra week

I was in Fort Lauderdale FL visiting a "friend" when George hit. That wasn't a monster hurricane so the experience was intense and cool. Did the hurricane party thing and watched the thing roll in while goofing off on the beach, then hunkered down in the apartment while it went over and went for a little drive during the eye-passing (didn't get far, there were some fallen trees). At the stores, people's moods were so strange. It was like taking a step through a portal to another world.

Droughts/tornados/snow storms in Chicago

Floods/Hurricanes/freezes in Houston..lost one car in a flood

cant wait to move to Washington state...looking forward to the volcano and typhoons, lol..

that's EXACTLY the storm i'm talking about

Snows quite a bit here.

I guess that's what happens when you are up 4200-5500 feet in some areas.

Something silly like 52 inches of powder last year mid-mountain in a 24 hour period.

Summers are nice. Middle of May to the end of September = very little rain, 86F - 100F.

in '97 I think it was at my grandpas there was so much snow that you could walk up to the top of houses then slide down them because of all the ice.

2 years ago there was 67 tornadoes in south dakota when my mom and brother were coming back from Germany. "Tornado Tuesday" http://library.thinkquest.org/03oct/01751/tornadotuesday.htm

then look at some of the pics and movies http://stormgasm.com/6-24-03/6-24-03.htm

13 inches of snow last year in about 5 hrs. -30. -40 degree weather.

Hottest it's ever been here is about 105. Swimming pools were filled.

4-5 inches this morning. Car was in the road and the plows went by, that was gay getting it out haha I'm glad I have a snow blower.

i used to live right outside of NYC on the jersey side, and the night of 9/11 was the craziest most intense thunderstorm ive ever seen/heard/felt. i felt like i was in an air raid.

96-97 was a *****......ton of snow. We had a blizard couple of weeks ago and the winds got to 80+ mph with snow. That was pretty bad.
