What's good for me here

Here's the deal with this. This will be my first setup that I've ever built, for myself. I Have About $150 to spend on this setup. I want a single 15". Now my question is, I'm not concerned about having flawless audio quality, I just want something to add bass to my truck, which is fairly small (ford ranger size). So, I can get a good deal on a 15" rockford Punch, (80$) brand new, OR I can get a more offbrand name (BOSS, Lanzar) 15" for about $60 new. I will not be getting a high quality amp (Plan on spending about $50 on it). So do you think it's better to go with the rockford, or some offbrand name. Also, I have 4 kenwood 6x9's in there right now, running on a pyramid amp, which IMO works jsut fine. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks Oh, and I am going to build the box, but I will be doing a really nice job on it, not just slapping some wood together.

In b4 flaming. is this an extended cab ranger? if its a single cab there is no way youre going to fit a 15 in it.

Amazon.com: Audiopipe TSAR15 15" 1000 Watt Subwoofer: Automotive

for the money that sub is probably your best option really. They do a pretty good job actually. Rockford is garbage, they put huge plastic boots over their tiny magnet to trick you. I suggest making a want to buy ad here on the forum and see what people have, most of the time they have some amps theyll part with for cheaps.

Yeah, it is extended cab, with the fold down seats, so there is plently of room, I measured and I could fit 2 15"s if i wanted, including enough cu. ft for both of them

well $80 for a sub is reasonable, and a 400 watt peak visonik amp is 40$, which would push the RF sub no problem. 200RMS, 400peak @ 4 ohms on the sub. So I think it is possible for sure.

alright I'll check. BUt do you actualy think that audiopipe is of good quality? If it is, why do I never hear anyone talking about it. And how does it compare to things like PYLES :p

PYLE is junk. they shouldnt be allowed to make stereo equipment. Audiopipe is by no means the best but when their amp says it puts out 1500 rms it puts out 1500rms and that is enough for me and everyone else here to like them. The stuff is dirt cheap and does what its supposed to. The subs get pretty loud and they are made from halfway decent parts. not the best but better than rockford certainly. you dont hear about them because your friends run garbage like pyle and visonik and lanzar. dont come in here asking me for help if youre going to argue with me.

nate, ive been meaning to ask you. what on earth is in your sig down there? lol, i laugh everytime i see it around here.
Its what happens when you stay up too late on the internet inside of a dream inside of a dream

sorry, I wasn't trying to start an argument. I just always thought of the best (affordable) brands being MTX, Kicker, Kenwood, RF, Pioneer, JBL.... I'll take your word for it that Audiopipe is good, I was just a little suprised because I never hear much about it.

nate is right, im a dealer for audiopipe and for the price, they are awesome. ive sold a lot of their amps and subs, and had almost zero problems out of them, even from customers who really dont take care of their stuff!
