Whatever happened to Coustic?

Back in the late 80's, a local stereo store sold a ton of Coustic stuff. They were the entry level brand in my area at that time. I remember them offering head-units, crossovers and amps but, no subs. Maybe they did back then but, I just don't remember them?

Seems like alot of guys looked down on Coustic and dogged their quality but, they sold alot of product! That 560 was a brute of an amp! Alot people had stunned looks on their faces when a guy from out of town showed for a local Crank It Up and blew everyone away with a 560!

I used to REALLY like their processors. Back in the day I owned a XM-2 and a couple of XM-3s. I still have a XM-6 that I am keeping handy just in case I decide to switch to a double Din. I figured I could use the time alignment on the double din and my XM-6 to give me a bandpass section for my midbass driver since I can't find a double din that does full three way out of the box.

I have a couple of sets of BNIB Coustic DR Balenced transmitter and receivers for 4chs...I may put a set to use soon...I also have a couple of BNIB DR Bass pumps....the set that held two 6.5's each ..I wish I had the 8" or 10" set......a XM3 XO with bass knob....I have an EQ or two left...one with the Spectrum Analyzer that I know where is...i;m thinking I have another ....I've sold off all my Coustic Amps...
