What you you think of Clarion decks?

Trying to narrow down my choices for a new deck...

The specs on Clarion decks look pretty good, the ProAudio ones DRZ-955, DRZ-945 and DRZ-855 - 24 bit DAC, 4v preouts, CeNET central control, DSP w/ time alignment...and they are heavily discounted on ebay.

But man do they look bizarre, all except the DRZ-9255 which is out of my price range. Not sure I could get used to it. Also, the controls look tiny and clumsy to use.

I can get used to bizarre styling for great SQ though, anyone who has one or hs used one, what do you think of them?

I think you touched on the only downside of a Clarion, the looks. The button size isn't very bad at all....at least not to an Eclipse user like me.

2)clarion dxz955mc

2)alpine 9860/h701 combo

havent made the final decision yet

I'm going with outboard processing. Going to be using a 5 band fully parametric EQ at the minimum. The Music Catcher part wasn't worth an extra $100+ to me.
