As ive said in a few of my other posts, im currently using:

kenwood head unit

2 mtx 8302 amps

2 mtx 15" 8000 subs

I guess like my setup as of now, but im just unsure for the most part.

the amps seem fine, and im just too lazy to buy and install newer ones, so what would you guys recomend for subs? the two subs i have now, or bridging my two amps into this one sub:

the kicker solo-baric l7 enclosure.

im not too fermiliar with this sub, but it seems like a great deal. are there any other loaded enclosures around this price range that are better.

also, how would i go about bridging my two amps into one sub, is it easy to do like plugging the subs into a splitter type deal, or is it some complicated wiring having to do with a bunch if aspects of the amps. keep in mind that i am no car audio "wiz" and i guess you could consider me a noob.

thanks for your time, and info or diagrams on how to bridge amps would be great.

edit: i also have one last question. what is the difference between ohms. i thought they were just preference, but then i see some people selling 4 ohm subs, because they "needed" 2 ohm subs. what are the benefits of different ohms, and what goes best with my mtx 8302 amps?

thanks again.

if you have any basic wood working skills at all, I'd reccomend building your own box.

prebuilt enclosures, even if they are from the speaker manufacturer, never sound as good, or have as much output as a custom built box......

and, l7 will be loud, but the sq isn't up to par IMO i would rather have the sq side, and give up a little spl.....

I contemplated building my own box, but i would have a clue where to begin.

to seal the wood together, do you just use the caulking, or use screws and caulk the seals.

carpeting seems like a tough thing to do... what are some alternatives to carpet that looks good (besides fiberglass)

to put the box together, just put liquid nails in the joints, screw it together, and caulk the seams from the inside after the liquid nails has set up.

as far as carpeting, its not that hard, but time consuming. for another thing, you could get just plain old fiberglass resin, mix it up, coat the ouside of the box with it, prime it, and paint it.

the resin would stop the mdf from soaking up the paint.
