Like i said, i dont even know if he has insurance since he rents and all, what all does he have to have proof of as to showing the items that were stolen he actually owned, recipets im guessing, witch he doesnt have... im sure

Owners manuals, receipts, pictures, police reports...

Depending on where he bought his stuff, they may have a record if it was a retail store like Tweeter.

If he paid by credit card, call the company and ask for the statements for the month he bought it. This includes online stuff and stores that don't keep names on file.

If he used eBay have them send the records to him. If it was from CA or other private source that he used PayPal for chances are he has a record of it in his account...

If he steals $5000/month now and he's 17, he could sue you for $2.88 million + inflation just in lost income alone !
