I'm putting together a system and I was hoping someone could tell me what they think.
First off I finally found a deck that worthy of buying. It's the AVIC-D1. I have read a lot about it and played with a few demos at stores. It seems a little quirky and have a few things the n2 doesn't but it seems to be at a good price point and it happens to fit in B5.5 VW's very well. Plus I get lost easy so.... yeah. Anyway.. I have a W7 12" that I have been waiting to put into my car. I'm building the box myself according to JL suggested spec's.
Now that you know a little about what I'm doing. I would like near audiophile performance. By near, I mean. I don't want to blow lots of money where price per performance scale goes way out of wack. But I have been looking at the JL 100/4 that my friend has and it sounds very nice. Would anyone suggest a competing amp? (I willing to spend around 300 - 400)
I will be replacing my speakers. If someone could suggest a nice set of 6.5' speakers that they have a pair of 1' tweets that I can mount in the door that the stock system already comes with?
I also need a good amp for the sub. I'm looking for something around 600RMS at 3 ohm's. I don't like anything MTX or Sony. Was thinking Rocksfords Fosgate. I want good power, doesn't need to be the best quality for the sub tho. (not sure how much i'm willing to spend on this)
