What would you do if you had an International Scout

For audio, I would get a HU made for boats that has a plastic cover that flips over the face to keep moisture out (several companies make them) and a set of waterproof 2 way coax's also made for boats to mount in the doors/kickpanels and call it a day because it doesnt look like it can still have the hard top put back on.

Thats a good idea because it'll be getting dirty.

and i the hard top can be put on.

but it is a shorty top.

it tops at about 55 because its got such low gears lol.

Oh, well what about maybe just a pair of 6.5s in the roll bar and leave it at that? It would be something. Or should I consider a different place for them?

but im not going hard core, but it will be a bush whacker........... I cant wait to get it out in the hills to take shooting. my goal is be ready by next summer. all i really gotta do is remove dents, sand blast it, and rattle can it flat black and im good to go.

Well the doors changed a little, but there's this access panel on the lower part that's pretty thick. I wouldn't have a problem putting speakers in there.... maybe get those foam baffles that crutchfield sells for a little water protection.

My 4spd topped out at 60, it had the factory optioned....LOWER gears. In 4-lo 3rd gear it barely went 15.

ya this is only a 3, and its geared so low, you put it in first, let out the clutch and it would drag a house.

makes it better for seeing everything.....get some people to pay you to put their name on it...weblinks...phone numbers etc to advertise...that way the road trip will be free......put a big American flag waving on the back....You'll make CNN news for sure...Then after it has made recognition...sell it on EBAY for lots of money.....

Hmm, now that makes two scouts on here besides mine. I guess i'm gonna have to change my sig. Yours is the only 80/800, mine and the other guy's are 2's. I've got a little bit more room than you. There's a pic of my box setup, and my truck here:http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=261878

For the head unit, pick up a tuffy locking center console with the radio mount in it. Waterproof, and once you bolt it to the floor a VERY secure locking compartment. After that, anything you want. Mine gets mudded and WET, and i've get to lose any audio components. I've got 6x9's in the rear quarters, and 5.25's up front in front of the shifters. Plus the L7. Hits hard with no top on. Can't wait to put the top on for the winter

no problem. Next time you're wherever the scout is, wanna snap a couple pics of the IH that's next to it. I can only see slivers of it, but it looks like a travelall with the top chopped off?

I definitly like the idea of something simple, a single 8" or something somewhere at the most. If you plan on listening to anything at 55mph though I bet its gonna have to be loud lol. Marine speakers will probably work the best as I'm sure they are meant to overcome wind noise and open cabins and such. Locking center console for the HU and maybe a cb in there somewhere.

Oh and my 83' F-250 would MAX at 5mph in 1st gear lol you could idle at 3mph or floor it and hit 5 lol.

and IH FTW I would love to get my hands on an old regular cab pickup and swap in a cummins and a 5 speed or something.
