Depends, I used to have a nissan truck I could turn over if left in gear, without using the clutch and it would jump forward.Cars won't start in gear.
yeah but did it start? as in, would it be running when you were done.Depends, I used to have a nissan truck I could turn over if left in gear, without using the clutch and it would jump forward.
well if you have the brake engaged, then there's no reason to have it in first. one of my buddies that drives a 5spd does that, he always puts it in first and pulls the brake. you don't need both. so just always leave it in neutral when you get out of your car, and problem solvedTalking about a manual car.
I ask because I'm thinking of using the parking brake as a safety switch for a remote start. I can't get a neutral safety but I can get a parking brake safety. Looking to know what would happen to see if it's worth it.
they'll start? or just try to start, then stall out?Sure they can. Older cars without a clutch safety switch will.
not mine so don't roll your eyes faggotthe car wouldnt start, to start a manual trans car u have to have the clutch in![]()
Truth. I didn't think about that.Sure they can. Older cars without a clutch safety switch will.
shouldn't be a problemYeah I do, but I'm worried that I might forget one day and I wreck my car or someone elses car because I forgot to put it in neutral. I do figure that if I remember to engage the parking brake I'll have remembered to put it in neutral as well, but I still am worried about the risk.
