lol, excursion, ability, long timd, ha, hahaha //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

I can't really remember one of mine. Hrmmmmm, I did not knwo the proper function of the gain for a long time //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

to some, it is...
thats what I have //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

lets see..

-I used to think 'ohms' was pronounced "O. H. M.'s"

-I remember thinking my sub was hitting "the wrong way" and studying it closely to see if I could see which way it was pushing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

-That the wire from your amp to subs had to be the same size as your power wire

This was all 4+ years ago though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I always used to think that the higher the ohm number (in resistance), the higher frequency range the sub would hit (instead of sub specs, box specs, etc..)

Also, and I'm still not 100% on this, but "home" stereo watts and "car" stereo watts weren't the same. I'm still a little confoozled on this one. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

most of mine were misconceptions of ommission... like when I wired my PG amp up to 2ohms brdidged, I had no idea I had... or when I had boxes made for me I had no idea what size they needed to be...

or my 4 4" inifitity kappas were top of the line

or that focal is the end all of high end audio

that 6x9's where a good idea

hmm, I might at one fleeting moment thought I was going to end up with a system that I liked and didn't want to immediately change (was close with Aura MR62's and Shiva...)

I used to think pyle and pyramid was a good *** deal just because it had a 1000 watt sticker on it, and i thought that the size of your subwoofer box wasnt important

honestly. i started car audio on this board.

my start date on this forum was relativly the start of my car audio obsession. ive not really been into it too long.

so i dont know if i had any misconceptions, i just listend to what people had to say that had stereos and took that as knowledge. like the fact that my friend had some audiobahn crossover, and he said that it sounded to "clean" and gave him a headache.

made no sense to me but i agreed with him.
