What TV shalt I get?

I'm about 90% on buying the HL-S5086W over the HL-S4666W- they are just about the same size and weight, but for $60 more I get the 4 extra inches of screen.

I'm just going to pick up a cheap learning remote, probably the Sony RM-VL600. It would be nice to have the Harmony, but the Sony I'm sure will suffice.

Not enough has cleared yet, usually it takes ~5 days for checks to fully clear for me, hopefully either tomorrow or Thursday it has all cleared so I can order my **** TV already //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I have the samsung 5065 (last years model of the one you are looking at) and its sick

I did ALOT of research when shopping for a TV, both hours online reading reviews, and actually sitting in the stores watching different TV's

I spent a good amount of time watching finding nemo on the samsung, and i think that is what settled it for me.

Best TV i found in the price range (and at that time they were like $1700)

Right now I think the best set out there for 1080p would be JVC LT46FN97 46" if you are looking into that size

It handles the darker scenes way better than samsung and I feel is better that the sony. A buddy of mine just got their 61" version just for the Gears of War game. He spent TWO MONTHS looking at tv's before he bought this one. I have to say it was just mind blowing to watch that game in HD.

Yeah, honestly, there are VERY few places that offer a true 1080p source ( I believe HD dvd and blu ray)

I know my cable box outputs in 1080i (i think so atleast, i'll have to check for sure)

My 720 tv is all i need for now, the PQ is sick

Exactly...only thing I'd use 1080p for would be to add the hd-dvd to the 360 and play hd movies, which I'm not going to do anytime soon. Cable here is broadcast in 720p.

Its about 50/50 here, some is still in 480! the rest is 720, and i think i have 21 channels of 1080

I got a harmony for my bedroom on amazon, for $50 its their lowest model but it does everything the same as the others with less buttons and without a color screen.
