What TV shalt I get?

congrats man. When you observe the TV, watch it for a good 20 minutes or so. The one drawback to DLP TV's (which is becoming less and less prevelent and doesnt compare to the drawbacks in LCD TV's) is the rainbow effect. Because of the way DLP projects the image, some people end up seeing small rainbows in the picture. Again, this mostly depends on the TV itself and the person viewing it. In some scenes, certain viewers see rainbows while others do not. If you end up seeing what im talking about, then look at another equivilant tv and you may not even have the same problem their. With the new samsung line, the companies over on the avs forums for rainbow effect is minimal, if at all.
now you may think im crazy, but its the truth. Either way, DLP tv's are superior to LCD TV's and i hate that "pixel" effect.
I remember when I was working at CC I checked out the Samsung DLP's, which were the '05 models, and the rainbow effect really wasn't of any significance.

then go for it man, that is an excellent screen and has a beautiful picture. I just mentioned that to you to make sure, because i wouldnt want you to bring something home you wouldnt like and see rainbows in. now i sound like a salesmen!

HAHHAHAHA gosh ****, thats nuts!!!!! I wonder how much of a difference it makes in picture though? also, its still a very new technology so it will need some refining before it gets to the point DLP is now.

you're suppose to blink often when watching the tv

i got the first gen DLP, still happy

Waiting for the checks to clear my account....grrrrr.

Went to 2 different PC Richard stores to check out the Samsung...they had the Sony 42E2000 for $875, which is a helluva deal...but after checking out the TV's, 42" just isn't big enough...definitely want to go with the 46".

The Samsung looked pretty nice, although the feed sucked- HD split a bunch of times through component input, but still looked pretty impressive compared to the other sets there.

It was right next to the Sony 46E2000, which was great since those are the 2 TV's I'm considering, and the Samsungs picture was a little better looking, although I have no idea what either sets settings were.
