What to do?

I had a kenwood KDC-MP922 that just died. Thankfully I had an extended warranty. I'm getting a $400 check in the mail from them in a few weeks so I'm in search of a new head unit.

From what I've read here, I'm def planning on going with Alpine. I was initially interested in the 9855, but after comparing them on Crutchfield, I really don't see much of a difference except the pre-out voltage and display type.

I'm also not too sure about the Glide strip, so I considered the 9851 as well.

Should i spend the extra $100 and get the 9855 or would I just be wasting my money? Or is the Glide strip that bad and I should go with the 9851?

I was also planning on added the IPOD interface at some point.

I think the glide feature is just a learning curve thing. Some people are just stuck in their ways and need to push buttons //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

I'd only pay for the unit that has the feature you want, don't step up just to "step up" if you don't need or want a higher models added features, don't pay for them.
